An Awfully Beautiful Place: The Antarctic work of stephen eastaugh

Through art fellowships, Antarctic Artist Stephen Eastaugh has travelled to the continent nine times throughout his extensive career, and remains to be the only Australian Antarctic Arts Fellow to endure an Antarctic Winter.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Antarctic expeditions in 2012, I was engaged by the Hobart City Council to continue and finalise the production of a catalogue commenced by Liz Walsh, of the exhibited works to accompany a survey exhibition of Stephen's works held at the Carnegie Gallery in Hobart in mid-2012.

The graphic job itself involved the collation and editing of many of the pieces, culminating in the print production of a thermally bound 50 page A5 booklet; printed on tudor RP paper stock. The catalogue was further reproduced when the show travelled to Melbourne and China.
